Firehouse just joined the CV team last month and we are so excited! Their ultra posh interior design and funky graphics set them apart from all of the other nightlife in PB.  They cater to a healthy, out-of-town crowd in the early mornings for their delicious brunch and a young, fun, local crowd at night.  Their beautiful patio space provides dual function – relaxing view of the ocean during the day and a VIP lounge with a DJ at night.  The owner, Matt also owns sister restaurants Vin de Syrah and Analog Bar downtown as well as a digital media company, SD Creative Media.  The firehouse theme is reflected in their incredible interior design – old fire hoses serving as wall panels, old ladders hanging from the ceilings and walls, old wooded axes and wooden tables fill the restaurant.  Their fabulous restaurant is celebrating their 6th year anniversary with a bang on June 18th in the evening.

Come visit our new account on a beach day for brunch or try out their new concoctions with our coffee such as the Coffee Martini and an Irish coffee!

Cyclists of Barrio Logan! World Fair Trade Day is TOMORROW, Saturday May 11th.  Fair Trade is what Cafe Virtuoso does best – buying coffee beans from farmers at a fair price.  We buy from all over the world – Central America, South America, Africa, and in every country we are trying to sustain a healthy lifestyle for the people who bring us incredible quality.

Te Mana Cafe

Open only 84 days, Jason and Marguerite have cultivated a following in their surfer cafe in OB. Tiki grass roofs and new surfboard fences going up around the perimeter in a couple weeks, this place is the perfect spot for beach locals to get together for a cup of joe and relax. Their employees take on the island mentality by serving pour over cups of coffee on a skateboard with a drum solo and song. These two even have a resident artist that sits on their porch and makes beaded necklaces and earrings. Their philosophy is simple – they love coffee and the surf and want to surround themselves in a community that loves the same. And we have to say, we love it.

Check them out in the summer when they will be hosting surf movie nights and obsessively serving delicious Amaro Gayo.

Our beautiful, up-and-coming artist community is about to undergo some funky changes! City planners are debating the options of incorporating more mixed-use buildings into the community to rearrange the city’s flow – which means more people living above their favorite coffee shop or delicious eatery, more artists living below their work studio, and an all around better planned city.  Go Barrio Logan!
