Ethiopia – Yirgacheffe
Yirgacheffe (pronounced Yer-gah’-cheff-ay), is a highly celebrated coffee growing region in the southern hills of Ethiopia. For centuries, this coffee has been hand sorted and washed to produce a consistently clean and truly remarkable coffee. This coffee is certified organically grown and Fair Trade, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a “fair” or economically sustainable price. Processed by the classic wet or “washed” method: fruit is removed before drying using traditional ferment-and-wash methods and the beans are sun-dried.
Tasting Notes: A multi-layered coffee with flavors of grapefruit, chocolate, and a bell pepper-like earthiness. A soft, citric acidity and round, full mouthfeel.
Certifications: Organic, Fair Trade
Some of the ways we love to enjoy this coffee at home are the French Press and the Chemex.
