Caxao Chocolate Boutique in Little Italy is a treasure-chest full of gems. The brightest of these being of course its creator and owner Beatriz Ledezma. This Tijuana/San Diego native is a professional chocolatier with eight-years in the industry. Beatriz was formally trained in Paris, under the tutelage of Pierre Hermè and Oriol Balager. Her passion for chocolate has motivated her to focus on artisan production. All of the chocolates and desserts she sells in her wonderful location are hand-made by Beatriz herself and crafted from the best, single origin cacao from Mexico, Ecuador and Venezuela. Her sweet creations are always inspired by seasonal flavors, made with local ingredients free of artificial flavors and coloring.
This talented chocolatera started her business by making orders for special events, corporate accounts and selling her products at Little Italy Mercato, where she met us. The moment Beatriz tried our Kona coffee she became a fan. For Beatriz her boutique is not only meant to showcase her chocolates but also her favorite local products, this is why she always knew that she would feature Virtuoso. Throughout the years Beatriz has incorporated our coffee in many of her original creations. She has made truffles reminiscing of a Café de la Olla, paired her delights with our Guatemalan & Cove Blend coffees, and created salted caramel infused with our Virtuoso Espresso.
